Mardi Gras Dinners

Mardi Gras Dinners @ Stanza

Can’t make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year? No worries. Executive Chef Jonathan LeBlanc of Stanza Italian Bistro & Wine Bar has you covered. On the evenings of Fat Tuesday, February 25 and again on Thursday, February 27, he will host 5-course Creole & Cajun Mardi Gras dinners at Stanza.

Jonathan LeBlanc

With his southern roots and upbringing, Chef LeBlanc has a deep knowledge of Creole and Cajun cooking. He’ll be sourcing all his ingredients directly from Louisiana and his dinner selections will be paired with classic Louisiana cocktails. “I am continually asked when I’m going to let my Cajun/Creole side loose and what better time than during Mardi Gras,” said LeBlanc. “Creating this menu has been a labor of love, as it represents where I’m from, my family and friends, and my roots.”

The tentative Mardi Gras menu and drink pairings are:

New Orleans BBQ Shrimp
with southern stone ground grits
Pimm’s Cup 1 Italian spritz

Gulf Seafood Gumbo
toasted dark roux, holy trinity, popcorn rice, horseradish new potato salad, rum barrel hot sauce
Sazerac (classic cognac cocktail)

Crab Stuffed Mirlitons
shrimp Creole sauce, five-pepper brunoise
Hurricane (class rum cocktail)

Peach-Southern Comfort Sorbet

Red Fish Pontchartrain
dirty rice dressing, corn maque choux, crawfish étouffee sauce, crispy cracklins
Epic Brewery Double Skull Doppelbock (a little something local)

Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding
Frangelico crème anglaise, brûlèed marshmallows, pecan praline
chicory root coffee

The cost for the Creole & Cajun Mardi Gras dinners at Stanza is $90 per person ($60/food & $30 optional drink pairings), plus tax & gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 801-746-4441.

Tucanos

Tucanos Turns 20

Congratulations to Tucanos Brazilian Grill founder Steve Oldham and co-founder Joe Heeb and their team, who opened the first first Tucanos Brazilian Grill 20 years ago in Provo, Utah. Since then, Tucanos has added nine locations ranging from Albuquerque and Greenville to St. Charles, Newport News, Colorado Springs and The Gateway in SLC.

To help celebrate their 20th Anniversary, this month and throughout 2020 Tucanos will offer a unique monthly special treat added to guests’ Churrasco meal at no extra charge. January’s 20th Anniversary Treat is a BBQ Shrimp Skewer: Savory jumbo shrimp grilled over a wood-fired, open flame grill, slathered with Tucanos’ famous Amazon Curse BBQ Sauce.

Casanova di Neri Dinner @ Veneto
