Mr. Shabu Opens at The Gateway

Mr. Shabu – a restaurant specializing in shabu-shabu, an Asian hot pot dish – will open at The Gateway’s newly renovated Restaurant Row on Saturday, November 30th. The new restaurant will be open for dinner only during their first week in operation, and then open seven days per week from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch, and 5 to 10 p.m. for dinner.

Mr. Shabu is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu restaurant with a variety of appetizers included in the meal, including edamame, gyoza, truffle fries, cream cheese wontons, karaage chicken, and more. Shabu-shabu begins with a choice of broth in which raw ingredients are cooked, including Wagyu beef, pork, lamb, shrimp, octopus, clams and more, including a wide assortment of fresh vegetables. Noodles – glass noodles, ramen, udon, vermicelli, konjac and others complete the shabu-shabu dining experience. Everyone gets their own pot to create their perfect meal based on their preferences.

Goldener Hirsch Earns Best Ski Boutique Hotel Award

The Goldener Hirsch Inn at Deer Valley Resort has been voted the United States’ Best Ski Boutique Hotel for the second consecutive year by the World Ski Awards. The accomplishment was announced at the 7th Annual World Ski Awards Gala Ceremony in Kitzbühel, Austria, on November 23, 2019.

The Goldener Hirsch Inn Restaurant – Recipient of the AAA-Four Diamond Award and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence – remains one of Utah’s most inviting dining experiences. The restaurant, which opens for the 2019-2020 season on December 12, features a tasty mix of Alpine cuisine and contemporary American fare with dishes ranging from Wiener Schnitzel with spaetzle and their famous fondue, to Wagyu ribeye au poivre and roasted duck with baby turnips and Beluga lentils.

Fill the Bag Promotion at The Store

One of my favorite new markets to shop for food (and more) is The Store, located at The Gateway, which offers hundreds of locally sourced specialty items in addition to daily essentials. On Saturdays through December 7th, The Store is offering a program focused on caring for the environment with its “Fill the Bag” promotion.

Through December 7th, customers at The Store can fill a bag from the popular Beehive Bag collection (99-cents during the promotion; normally $3.99) or their own reusable shopping bag and receive 10 percent off of everything that fits into the bag. The offer is only available on Saturdays at The Gateway location through Dec. 7, 2019, and is limited to three bags per person.

“We just love the vibe The Store brings to The Gateway,” says Jacklyn Briggs, marketing director for The Gateway. “They offer a great service to those who live, work and play at The Gateway, and their “Miles to Market” way to showcase local products is very popular. This program just furthers the goal of reducing waste and shopping local for your groceries.”
