During a recent visit to Park City’s Alpine Distilling and a visit with owners Rob and Sara Sergent, I came away a huge fan of their Preserve Liqueur. It’s so delicious – like happiness in a glass.
Named for the Swaner Nature Preserve in Park City – which Alpine Distilling supports with a portion of all proceeds of Preserve Liqueur sold – Preserve is a light, not cloying liqueur with hints of black tea, blood orange, raspberry, lemon balm, and ginger. It is truly unique and indescribably scrumptious.
Sara Sergent says that you can add it to just about anything. Preserve goes really well with Champagne or Prosecco, but just as well in a gin and tonic, or just sparkling water, flavored or not.
I really like this simple Alpine Distilling recipe for a cocktail called Swaner Dreams:
- 1 oz Preserve Liqueur
- 1 oz Gin
- 0.25 oz Lemon Juice
- 3 oz Champagne/Prosecco
- Pour Preserve and gin in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake.
- Strain into a champagne glass, top with Champagne or Prosecco.
