Carson Kitchen Opens

Salt Lake City is now home to Carson Kitchen, a restaurant specializing in comfort food classics and craft cocktails. The first Carson Kitchen opened in Las Vegas in 2014 and the second is in Alpharetta, Georgie, near Atlanta. This is the third Carson Kitchen location.

Menu items range from “Devil’s” Eggs, Veal Meatballs, and Chicken Thighs with Alabama White Sauce, to Salmon with spinach pistou, Baked Mac & Cheese, Chili Cauliflower, Butter Burger, and Glazed Donut Bread Pudding.

“I fell in love with Salt Lake City a few years ago while traveling with friends and knew immediately it would be a great fit for Carson Kitchen,” said founder and chef Cory Harwell. “The energy, vibe and connectivity here aligns perfectly with what Carson Kitchen is. We are thrilled to connect to our new community and home.”

Harwell says that he draws culinary inspiration from the meals his grandmother cooked when he was growing up in Woodstock, Georgia. Harwell’s goal for this restaurant is simple: “To create a place where you can come in once a week with your friends to hang out and try some new things. Carson Kitchen isn’t for celebrating your anniversary with a $100 bottle of wine. It’s for celebrating Tuesday.”

Carson Kitchen opened in downtown Salt Lake City next door to the AC Hotel this Tuesday.

Ogden Contemporary Art will be hosting a virtual cooking class.

OCA Virtual Cooking Class

Due to Covid-19, Ogden Contemporary Arts is not able to host their annual fundraising Gala. The organizers said, “We are learning to adapt and want to offer an alternative to the traditional in-person fundraising event. Tickets went on sale on August 12th and the cost is $150, which Includes 1 OCA tote filled with an OCA apron, ingredients for two people, a list of cooking utensils needed, recipe card and a link to the virtual cooking class.

According to OCA, “Two days prior to the event, you will receive an email with a pick up location for your OCA Tote full of your ingredients and a link to the virtual cooking class that will be available to stream starting October 9th at 7:00 pm. If that time doesn’t work, don’t worry, you can watch it through the end of the year.”
