SLC Eatery to Close
I was really bummed to learn that SLC Eatery – one of SLC’s most creative kitchens – will be closing at the end of this month. Here is a partial statement from the owners on Instagram.
“It is terribly sad for us to say, we will be CLOSING our doors at the end of September (our last night of service will be scheduled soon). We tried hard to keep it open for you wonderful people but couldn’t do it. This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that dined with us and worked with us. Our patrons are so awesome and we are really sad to not be able to see you anymore. A special thank you to our frequent diners, you know who you are. You hold a special place in our hearts! To the best staff an owner could have, to those that are still with us and the ones that have flown the coop to bigger and better places, you all made this restaurant so fun and incredible to be a part of. I can’t thank you enough! Speaking of our staff, we will REMAIN OPEN for one more month to allow them to find new opportunities and to see your wonderful faces again! We hope you will come in and support us one last time to eat chef Logen’s James Beard award winning food, be taken care of by our amazing service staff and to have delicious beverages from our bar. Come support this amazing team one last time!”
Co-owner Logen Crew went on to say that “We hope to keep doing private events, supper clubs, pop ups and maybe even some lunch at this location. So keep following us here if you want to be in the know.”
Fleming’s Social Hour
In addition to full-on steak dinners, did you know that Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar features a daily Social Hour? During Fleming’s Social Hour you’ll find special pricing on Bar Bites, Cocktails & Wine from 4 to 6 pm. Social Hour menu items include Prime Steakhouse Sliders, Tempura Shrimp, Spicy Tuna Wontons, Crab Cake Bites, Chickpea Eggplant Vegan Cakes, Filet Wellington Bites, Crispy Chicken Sliders, Whipped Burrata Crostini, and more.
Arlo Wine Dinner
On Thursday, September 26th, 2024 the folks at Arlo restaurant will team up with Brad Jensen’s Bon Vivant Imports for a special evening of food and wine featuring a variety of Bon Vivant’s Spanish vintages selected to pair with Chef Milo Carrier’s creative cuisine. Brad Jensen and his wife Laura Kent-Jensen lived in Barcelona prior to moving back to the U.S. and starting Bon Vivant Imports, so they know their Spanish wines.
The organizers said, “As the winemakers present their products, Arlo restaurant will serve a five-course meal designed to pair with each glass. Drawing inspiration from the fall harvest, the dinner will showcase a range of complexity designed to enhance the wine-drinking experience.” The event is for guests 21 and over. Tickets are $75 for food and $50 for wine, with two seatings: 5:30 pm outdoors (weather permitting) and 7:30 indoors.
