Portugal’s Wine – Hidden Gems Class

A lesson in Portuguese wines at Treasure Mountain Inn. Includes tasting, history, and a Blind Tasting Challenge.

During last year’s vacation in Portugal, my wife and I came to the realization that Portugal is chock-full of great, inexpensive wines – and not just Port. We found excellent red and white wines there in the $3 to $5 range (that’s not a typo!).

Portugal has a wide variety of wines and wine styles and on Friday, January 5th at Park City’s Treasure Mountain Inn, attendees 21 and over are invited to a class and tasting of Portugal’s Wines – Hidden Gems.

According to the organizers, “Fox School of Wine invites you to a fun-filled, guided wine tasting on Main Street. Executive Sommelier and Fox School of Wine Headmistress, Kirsten Fox, and her Wine Professors will present a well-paced tasting of five, approachable, under-$40 hidden gem wines that you may have overlooked in the aisles at your local liquor store.”

“Professor Laura Wheatley is excited to share with you her love of Portuguese wine and her secret discoveries at our local wine stores. You’ll receive a tasting pour of each wine, stories and history about the winery, grapes, and region, food pairing ideas… plus our signature Blind Tasting Challenge, when we pour you a taste of a wine you’ve already explored in class to see if you can guess which one it is.”

Tickets are $59 at Eventbrite and the Portugal’s Wine – Hidden Gems class takes place 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in the Crescent Room at Treasure Mountain Inn.
