Keeping Warm @ Caffe Molise

Fred Moesinger and his crew at Caffe Molise have added extra heaters and fire pits to extend their al fresco dining for as long as possible. To reserve your spot on the patio or for indoor dining, call 801-364-8833. Caffe Molise is open for both lunch and dinner with dine-in service, patio dining, and curbside takeout. The gorgeous, downtown restaurant offers fresh Italian cuisine inspired by the Molise region of Italy, not to mention an excellent wine, cocktail and beer selection.

9th Annual Caputo’s Chocolate Festival

The 9th Annual Caputo’s Chocolate Festival will spotlight England’s Pump Street Chocolate. This year, however, the Festival will be a virtual one. According to the organizers at Caputo’s, “As you can imagine, Choc Fest will look a little different this year. For the first time, our community is joining from the comfort of their own homes via online streaming, with goodies shipped directly to participants. Pump Street’s exceptional bean to bar chocolate will be showcased in both sweet and savory applications. A beautiful festival box arrives directly to the door, with all the components for a delightful evening with incomparable chocolate content and lots of local Utah love!”

The 9th Annual Caputo’s Chocolate Festival takes place on Thursday, November 19, beginning at 6:00 PM  MST. Tickets are $75 for festival entrance and tasting kit pickup in SLC, Utah; $100 for entrance to  festival with tasting kit shipped directly to the attendee’s door. Participation is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance on Caputo’s website. All proceeds from the  Chocolate Festival are donated to the Heirloom Cacao Preservation Initiative.

Here’s the nuts and bolts of Chocolate Fest 2020, from the folks at Caputo’s: “The evening’s culinary lineup includes talented chefs from Utah’s local establishments Normal Ice Cream and Nomad Eatery. Pump Street’s exceptional bean to bar chocolate will be showcased in both sweet and savory applications, accompanied by an inspired cocktail mix from Water Witch Bar. All goodies,  including one of Pump Street’s delectable pastries, the Eccles cake, will be shipped directly to attendees to enjoy together with the chefs and chocolate makers over Zoom.

Vegan MEAT-Up Fridays @ Ice Haüs

Friday nights at the Ice Haüs are now Vegan Friday Nights. On Fridays, from 5 to 8 p.m., they’ll be “rotating through different vegetable protein powered cuts every week. From steaks and filets and smoked ribs to fried chicken, fish or even pastas. Nothing is ‘off the table’ and we will sample them all.” This week’s (Nov. 13) Vegan MEAT-Up special is Chicken & Waffles: Hand-Breaded Gardein Chick’n, Beleaf Bacon, Belgian Style Waffles, Aioli, Beer Cheese, Maple Syrup and Butter.

The Ice Haüs folks said “We keep our offerings as inexpensive as possible, from $8-$14, so this is DINE-IN ONLY. This is a bar promotion, so we do not offer take out. We want you to come in, be social and drink. Get a sitter or kennel your dog and join our little vegan society.”

Vegan menu items at the Ice Haüs include Spicy Tiger Wings, Vegan German Nachos, Caterpillar Roll, Vegan Corn Dog, and more.
