Slow Food Utah

A Moveable Feast

For the past 15 years, Slow Food Utah has hosted an annual gathering called the Feast of Five Senses – an evening with local food artisans, farmers, chefs, libation purveyors and food & drink lovers. According to Slow Food Utah, “This annual event is the primary fundraiser for Slow Food Utah’s microgrant program which funds projects for small farms, food producers and nonprofit organizations. Since its inception, the program has distributed more than $120,000 to bolster projects throughout the state. While we can’t gather in a typical fashion this year, we can continue to support our community with A Moveable Feast on Saturday, September 26.”

Here is how it will work. 9 local restaurants have paired with 9 local farms to create 4-course meals packaged to take home for Your Personal Feast. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Participating restaurants, chefs and locations:

Afterword by Tupelo | Chef Matt Harris | Heber

Blended Table | Chef Tom Grant | Salt Lake City

Franck’s Restaurant | Chef Robert Perkins | Holladay

MakanMakan | Chef Daniel Yuswadi | Sandy

Oquirrh Restaurant | Chef Drew Fuller | Salt Lake City

Porch | Chef Jen Gilroy | Daybreak

Saffron Valley Indian Restaurant | Chef Lavanya Mahate | Sugar House

SLC Eatery | Chef Logen Crew | Salt Lake City

Zest Kitchen | Chef Casey Staker | Salt Lake City

Details from Slow Food Utah: “On September 26, participants will pick up their meal and recreate the feast. Each order comes with a menu and special instructions from the chef so you can plate your Feast in the comfort and safety of your own home. Additionally, participants will be sent instructional videos to advise on wine pairings and table setting. Join our Facebook Live feed at 7 pm to engage with the Slow Food community and share moments from Your Personal Feast.”
