Tupelo Park City to Open Afterword in Heber

Tupelo Park City Chef Matthew Harris and his talented team will unveil an exciting new farm-to-table dining experience on July 1, 2020 when they open Afterword by Tupelo Park City in Heber. It will be located in the historic Main Street brownstone built in 1888 that previously housed Main Street Social and will offer ample dining on its sprawling patio.

“It has been an honor to serve our guests in the heart of Park City for the last five years, and we are thrilled for the opportunity to offer this new experience to the community we call home,” said Tupelo Park City Partner Maggie Alvarez. “An afterword is a commentary, not a conclusion. We’re excited to explore this fresh, playful variation of the Tupelo Park City vision, while maintaining our signature standards for warm hospitality and quality ingredients.”

The past pandemic months have been a challenge for restaurateurs, to say the least. And, the thought of launching a new restaurant right now has to be incredibly daunting. But as I speak with Maggie Alvarez about Afterword, I hear nothing but positivity and enthusiasm. She and Matt are happy to get their Tupelo team back to work – which includes health care benefits – and they’ve been working long hours to get the new/old restaurant space ready for customers. One thing is certain: The husband/wife team of Matt Harris and Maggie Alvarez is nothing if not adventurous. And I’m betting that this new adventure will have folks flocking to Heber to enjoy the unique dining opportunities at Afterword quicker than you can say “farm-to-table.”

Ingredients for Afterword’s farm-to-table cuisine will be sourced from local ranchers, farmers and producers, including Chef Harris’ own Tupelo Farm located in Midway. Meanwhile, he’ll continue serving the Park City community at RIME Seafood & Steak in the St. Regis Deer Valley. He says, “We are so proud of our sustainably caught seafood and locally sourced meats offered at RIME. Our intimate new dining experience, award winning wine list, and craft cocktail program at Afterword will be the perfect complement.”

Meanwhile, Matt and Maggie say that they hope to return to Park City with a new Tupelo concept and location in the not-so-distant future. I, for one, can’t wait to visit Afterword. Stay tuned!
