CAPARZO Toscana Sangiovese 2018

In my opinion, there’s no better wine pairing for pasta with rich red sauce – like the “Sunday Gravy” featured in this week’s Scheff’s Table – than Italian Sangiovese.

I recently came across a really good, very affordable Italian Sangiovese from CAPARZO that was a perfect pairing for pappardelle with Sunday gravy.

Priced at a mere $11.99, Caparzo Toscana Sangiovese 2018 is an incredible bang for the buck. If you don’t believe me, take it from famous wine critic James Suckling, who gave it a score of 91 and called this wine “Crisp and deliciously fruity. Drink now.”

The aromas of this Sangiovese are bold and intense: spicy with berry flavors and some vanilla. But it’s surprisingly soft … even elegant … on the tongue and very fruity, with blackberry, raspberry and strawberry flavors. Caparzo Toscana Sangiovese 2018 is a steal, so stock up!
