Xmas Cheer @ The Garage on Beck
Looking for a not-so-traditional way to spend Xmas Day? You know you can count on your Uncle Bob. Owner Bob McCarthy and his Garage on Beck team will host Uncle Bob’s Chinese Christmas Buffet at The Garage on December 25th, starting at 2 p.m.
“Waywards are welcomed” to the 3rd Annual Chinese Christmas Buffet, which is priced to make your holiday happy at a mere $13 per person. This sounds to me like a lot more fun than spending Christmas with relatives … I wonder if The Garage will be mixing up Mai Tais on Xmas?
Feldman’s Deli = Great Food & Great Music
During the holidays I’m always on the hunt for great food and music – especially if the latter isn’t Christmas music. Well, here’s a place where you’ll find both: outstanding food and marvelous music to go with it: Feldman’s Deli.
On Friday, December 20th at 7 p.m., Feldman’s Deli and Michael Feldman (aka DeliMan) will host Crossfire live. Jeff Oliverson and John Watts (Crossfire) perform original tunes along with pop, country, light rock and Americana.
Then on Saturday, December 21st at 7 p.m., Utah Slim with Scott Mckell will be playing live at Feldman’s Deli. Utah Slim is known for songs about the Colorado Plateau. Scott plays soprano & baritone sax, flute, clarinet, and native American flute. He blends many styles that enhance, empower and harmonize Slim’s songs. The duo of Pat & Roy will open the evening with scat, folk, jazz, oldies and originals.
Lunch Break @ Fleming’s
You probably don’t think of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar as a lunch location. That’s because it’s not normally open for lunch. But, on Fridays during the holiday season – through January 3rd – Fleming’s invites you to take a lunch break, beginning at 11:30 a.m. when the restaurant opens.
It’s a chance to break away from the holiday rush and enjoy a relaxing lunch with friends, family or coworkers. And, new to Fleming’s for this holiday season is a scrumptious Sliced Filet Mignon and Potato Waffle available at the bar: tender, sliced filet mignon served atop potato waffles with a drizzle of demi-glace. It would pair nicely with Fleming’s’ Black Walnut Old Fashioned.
