For your Sip o’ the Week – or rather, sips in this case – I suggest reserving a spot for a special evening tasting Italian wines at Kimi’s Chop & Oyster House.
Next Friday, July 20th, Kimi Eklund and her talented staff will host a wine pairing dinner featuring the Italian wines of Roncus and Dolfo wineries. Roncus is located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in the hills behind the Capriva del Friuli, while Dolfo winery is right on the Slovenia-Italy border, with vineyards on both sides of the border (4 in Italy and 10 in Slovenia).
Following a welcoming toast with delectable Dolfo Rosé, a four-course dinner with wine pairings will be served. The dishes and pairings for Kimi’s Italian wine evening include:
Oven-baked avocado with Tuscan herb shrimp & crispy prosciutto + Vosca Sauvignon Blanc 2016
Seared scallops with asparagus risotto + Roncus Ribolla Gialla 2016
Mediterranean salmon with tomato-basil ragu + Roncus Bianco Vecchie Vigne 2014
Velvety chocolate panna cotta with raspberry Marsala coulis
The cost for the evening is $85 per person (21 and over), plus 7.85% tax and 20% service charge.

Ciao!
