Downtown Farmers Winter Market Returns

Since 1992, the Downtown Farmers Market has been the place for farmers and food purveyors to interact with residents of Salt Lake City and beyond. Thousands of patrons and several hundred vendors fill Pioneer Park and the Rio Grande Train Depot each Saturday morning, providing income for farmers and a stronger community connection to food for local families and visitors.

This Saturday, November 9th the Downtown Farmers Winter Market returns to The Gateway at 32 North Rio Grande Street and runs through April 19, 2025 from 10am to 2 pm (closed November 30th & March 15th). The winter market will offer local produce, meat, and baked goods along with plenty of arts and crafts from Utah artists. Program Director Carly Gillespie said the winter market will feature a record number of 75 local vendors and that this Winter’s Market will be the “largest winter market ever.”

Matteo Ristorante Italiano is now serving weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am to 2pm. As you would expect, Matteo’s brunch is uniquely Italianesque with shareable dishes like Burrata, Whipped Brie, Tartare di Tonno, and Antipasto Italiano.

Breakfast/brunch-style options include Italian French Toast, Bistecca e Uova, Panino Genovese, Colazione, Nova Lox, Uova in Purgatorio, and more.

For main entree/lunch plates, choose from dishes such as Tagliatelle Bolognese, Fusilli al Pesto, Lasagna al Ragu, and Paccheri alla Vodka.

Keep in mind that if you enjoy wine with your brunch, Matteo has one of the best Italian wines lists I’ve seen.
