Yet Another Closure

For something like the fifth week in a row, I’m saddened to have to report on the permanent closure of yet another beloved local business: Beltex Meats. This one really hurts.

Beltex Meats Founder/Owner Philip Grubisa said this on Instagram: “Over 10 years ago, we set out to open a small butcher shop with big passion right here in Salt Lake City. Our goal was simple: to show people just how incredible locally raised meats in Utah can be. Thanks to an immense amount of hard work and the amazing support we’ve received over the years, we’ve been able to accomplish incredible things in this little building in the Liberty Wells neighborhood. I could never have done this alone. Our incredible employees, ranchers, farmers, growers of all kinds, and of course, our customers have made this place truly special in our city.”

He continues, “Now, the time has come for Beltex Meats to say goodbye. We’ll be open through the holiday season, but it will be our last. We look forward to serving you and your families one last time over these final months. At 4pm on December 23rd, we will close our doors.”

“We cannot thank you enough, our loyal customers, for all the love and support you’ve shown us throughout the years! And of course, Get Some.”

This is a hard reminder that we all need to support the local businesses we love or we may lose them.
