Seed Libraries at Salt Lake County Libraries. Visit the libraries in Sandy, Draper, Magna, Millcreek, Holladay, Kearns, Whitmore, Tyler, West Valley, and Riverton to pick up some seeds. Vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers are available. The staff encourages patrons to harvest the seeds and return them for the next person to use.

The Storytelling Competition organized by Utah Stories will take place at Shades Brewing Taproom, from 7 – 9 pm. Attendees will have 3 minutes to share their story. The best stories will win prizes ranging from cash to gift cards to local restaurants.

Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. The annual festival returns to the Ashton Gardens, 3900 N Garden Drive, Lehi, on April 10. Featuring over 750,000 spring flowers including tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, poppies and more spread over 50 acres. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the Thanksgiving Point website.

Gemstone Junction Rock and Gem Show. Held at the Golden Spike Event Center Exhibit Hall, 1000 N 1200 W, Ogden, will offer activities and demonstrations and over 25 dealers selling rocks, fossils, minerals, gemstones, and more. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for ages 12-18 and under 12 free.

United States Air Force Academy Band. This is a free event at the Gallivan Center, 50 E 200 S, starting at 7pm.
April 18-20
Green River Dirt Bike Rally. Starting point and check in at 90 W. Pirate Ave in Green River Utah. Various events are scheduled over the three days including the Green River Missile complex tour and workshops on skills training. There will also be a photo contest in conjunction with the event. Skinny Tire Festival in Moab. This biking event will take two days following the Colorado River corridor, both upstream and downstream. The other two days will climb the canyon roads into Dead Horse Point State Park and Arches National Park. To register visit skinnytireevents.com
April 27
3rd Annual Dutch King’s Day at Millcreek Common. Held from 11am to 5pm Koningsdag, or King’s Day, will be celebrated with Dutch Music, craft booths, authentic Dutch cuisine and beer, kids’ games, and a bicycle parade. Wear orange and come learn how to party like the Dutch.

Utah Japan Festival?/Nihon Matsuri. The festival starts at 10am at 100 South 300 West. Featuring Japanese entertainment, culture, food, products and games. The event will also feature Rakugo (Japanese storyteller) by Sunshine Katsura, a Canadian who studied under a Japanese Rakugo master in Osaka. He performs in Japan and the U.S. Children can play traditional games at the children’s booth. There will also be a traditional Tea ceremony.
