February Activities

There are plenty of things to do in February, indoors and outdoors. Join a Valentine’s Day Treasure Hunt at Solitude, or go for a bird walk at the Ogden Nature Center. Too cold? There is a Beatles Anniversary Concert at Mid-Valley Performing Arts and a Valentine’s Day dinner dance at Thanksgiving Point.

Ice Skating

Outdoor ice skating in and around Salt Lake. Millcreek Common Skate Loop is open 7 days a week and rentals are available. The Gallivan Center Is open 7 days a week with rentals and concessions. Ice Ribbon at J. Lynne Crane Park in Herriman is open daily with rentals. Bountiful Ice Ribbon is open daily and also features rentals. 

Park City Ghost Tours

Park City Ghost Tours gathers local stories based on years of research into the colorful past of Park City. Tours leave nightly at 7pm Reservations are required 24-hours in advance and requires a minimum of 6 people. Tickets are $15 for ages 16 and under and $30 for adults. The tours leave from 415 Main Street, Park City. 

February 9

Beatles 60th Anniversary Tribute. This event will be held at the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center in Taylorsville. Commemorating the first time the Beatles played in America on the Ed Sullivan show. The tribute band, “Imagine” will be performing classic songs and the newly released Beatles’ song, “Now and Then.” Tickets can be purchased in advance here.

February 10 and 14

Valentine’s Dinner Dance at Thanksgiving Point. Celebrate a special evening with live music, three-course dinner, dancing and more. To be held at the Show Barn at Thanksgiving Point. Doors open at 6pm, dinner at 7pm and dancing 7:30pm to 10pm. Tickets can be found at thansgivingpoint.org

February 14

Solitude Mountain Valentine’s Day Treasure Hunt. Held from 8am to 4pm skiers will be on the lookout for chocolate hearts while on the trails. A valid lift ticket or season pass are required. 

February 24

Guided Bird Walk at the Ogden Nature Center, 966 West 12th Street. Tour the Nature Center with a naturalist and fellow bird lovers. Bring your own binoculars and sign up the Wednesday before the date. Held from 8am to 9am. Register at the link.

February 24

Moab’s Red Hot Ultra. Races include a 15K, 33K, 55K, and 50 Mile. This race event is part of the Triple Crown of Moab. Runners will have views of the La Sal Mountains to the southeast and views of Canyonlands National Park to the west. Register here.
