Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen

I’ve never been especially fond of grapefruit’s bitterness. That has changed, however, with the release of Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, which I really love.

I have to confess that I am not a great fan of grapefruit. I never quite understood why it was Hunter S. Thompson’s favorite food, except that he could inject it with vodka. But I’ve never been especially fond of grapefruit’s bitterness. That has changed, however, with the release of Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, which I really love.

Perfect for summer, Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen comes in both bottles and lightweight 11.2 oz. cans. The bottles come in 6-packs while the cans are available in 4- and 12-pack containers. And also perfect for summer, this German bier is immensely quaffable, a 50/50 blend of Schöfferhofer Hefeweizen beer and natural carbonated grapefruit flavoring.

It’s a fizzy, crisp beer that doesn’t really taste much like beer, to be honest. It’s pretty sweet, but not cloying. And although you could enjoy this light, easy drinking “beer” anytime, it’s ideally suited for warm days and nights. If I had a boat, I’d stock it full of Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen. Prost!
