The Colorado City Music festival

For three years now we have brought music to the Utah/Arizona border Community of Short Creek.

Historically, the area has been more known for polygamy than it has for music festivals. This year‘s event only sold 230 pre-sale tickets so we were in no way prepared for the awesome rock concert that was about to take place. 

I knew something big was going to happen when the first people showed up four hours before the gates opened and began setting up tents and canopies on the lawn. I had camped out the night before and ran off some drunk people that wanted to dance on the stage at midnight—something wild was brewing.

The Royal Bliss 

Local Colorado City technology company Ulyte, had rounded up community support and raised $15,000 to bring Royal Bliss as our headlining performer.

They had just released a new album that was climbing the charts, and they promised to bring Short Creek a show like it had never seen! And that they did!

By the time Royal Bliss hit the stage, 4000 people crowded in close under a sea of brilliant stage lights and felt the power of a world class rock band.

The day had seen its fair share of troubles, from technical difficulties with sound, to aggressive canyon wind that ripped the roof off the stage. The first ever beer garden in the community sold 26 kegs of Zion Brewing Company beer in a little over two hours and then shut down, as they were out of product.

Vendors from all over the region offered everything from homemade food to fine art.

We will be announcing the 4th annual festival date on July 1, after which we will gradually make some big announcements about improvements, a call for vendors, and our next festival lineup.

As the festival grows, we hope to offer an ever more impressive experience. We hope to find the community, county, and state support to make The Colorado City Music Festival a nationally known event that Utah can be proud of.
