Lucien Albrecht Cremant d’Alsace Brut Rose is a delicious sparkling wine, perfect for a girl’s night in or to pair with holiday meals.

Years ago on our crazy drive from Munich to Paris, besides getting a speeding ticket in France, we also got acquainted with Alsace. I fell in love with Alsace with its perfectly clean and orderly towns, with old stone houses, cobblestone, flowers-filled town squares, and sprawling vineyards.

We stopped at different wineries, humble affairs compared to the elegance of Sonoma, and sampled superb wines.

Since then, whenever I’m in a  local wine store, I always look for anything new in the Alsace wine section. That is how I came across Lucien Albrecht Crémant d’Alsace Brut Rose. I must admit that sparkling wines are my weakness. Any time is the time for the bubbly in my book.

Lucien Albrecht is one of the most distinguished producers of white wines in Alsace and a leader in the production of acclaimed Brut and Rosé Crémants. The winery was founded in 1698 when Balthazar Albrecht settled in Orschwihr, a small village flanked by rolling hills and ideally situated for grape-growing. All Lucien Albrecht wines are produced with fruit sourced exclusively from estate vineyards.

The flavors in this particular wine display nice strawberry and wild cherry fruit, with a touch of richness on the mid palate. It is balanced with dry, crisp acidity and complemented with a creamy texture and long finish.

A perfect wine for a girl’s time to herself for mere $20.
