Greek Fest This Weekend
This weekend – Friday through Sunday, Sept. 8,9 & 10 – signals the 47th Annual Salt Lake City Greek Festival at Holy Trinity Cathedral. According to Festival Chairman George Karahalios, “The Salt Lake Greek Festival is the 2nd largest cultural festival in Utah and the largest Greek Festival West of the Mississippi. Experience Hellenism and Orthodoxy as we showcase our delicious food, spectacular dancers, hospitality and our Orthodox faith through beautifully guided tours of our amazing Cathedral and museum. It is my hope that this years festival will be the biggest and best ever! So, as we say in Greek, Kalos-orisate (welcome,) and Kali-dia-ske-tha-si, (have a great visit).”
Admission is only $5 – kids 5 and under get in free – and Greek food highlights during the festival include baked Greek chicken, dolmathes, fasolakia, feta, Greek salad, gyros, kalamata olives, keftethes, roasted lamb, pilafi, pastichio, souvlaki, spanakopita, tyropita, stifatho, and calamari, plus an eye-popping selection of pastries
Mountain Beer Fest
A reminder to beer lovers that the Deer Valley Mountain Beer Festival returns to Deer Valley Resort’s Silver Lake Village on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. participating breweries include UTOG Brewing, Talisman Brewing, Moab Brewery, TF Brewing, Squatter’s, Wasatch Brewery, Offset Bier, Roosters Brewing Co., Mountain West Cider and RoHa Brewing Project. The festival also includes options for outdoor dining, live music presented by Mountain Town Music, plus a full slate of additional family-friendly activities by local vendors.
The Deer Valley Mountain Beer Festival gives attendees the opportunity to sample a wide range of beer flavors and styles, including many full-strength selections. Where’s the Beef?
The Annual Beef Fest at the Utah State Fair takes place on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Presented by the Utah Beef Council, the public is invited to “Join us at the Utah State Fairpark in the Market Building for our annual Beef Feast. We will be serving 5-ounce Tenderloin Steak sandwiches with a bag of chips for only $10. Drinks will be $2. We begin serving at 11 a.m. and go until supplies last. Last year we sold out before 6 pm, so be sure to come early! Cash only. We look forward to seeing you there!”
