Since the founding of civilizations, the consumption of beer has played an integral role in the progression of freedom.

Recent years have seen an explosion of new breweries, distilleries, and brew pubs in Utah, including a handful in the past year. Here are five new breweries/pubs, and one upcoming, with suds that are very worth your hard-earned dime.

Since the time the railroad came to Ogden in the latter part of the 19th century, the city has had a reputation for being notorious and a bit rambunctious. As a result, brewers, distillers, and those offering a good time in Ogden have generally flourished.

From prohibition to craft beers, Park City has seen it all. Prohibition shuttered Park City’s many saloons and it wasn’t until 1987 that Wasatch Brewery opened on Main Street. Now there is a new generation of breweries.
