Two Old Guys World Tour 2023
Two Old Guys – aka Michael Feldman of Feldman’s Deli and music partner Tally Evans – have a full roster of shows coming up at some of our favorite local eateries and bars. So many, in fact, I wonder how Michael gets all those powder days in skiing up at Alta?
Upcoming Two Old Guys performances include Flanagan’s on Main in Park City (02/01), Gracie’s in SLC (02/03), Boomerang’s Down Under Bar in Millcreek (02/04), SaltFire Brewing in South Salt Lake (02/11), Root’d Cafe in Cottonwood Heights (02/16), and Hopkins Brewing in Sugarhouse (02/27). Let’s get out and support live music!
New Taqueria 27 Ownership
To my mind, it was Todd and Kristin Gardiner who brought booshie tacos to Utah when they opened their first Taqueria 27 location in Lamplighter Square in 2012. Well, after 10-plus years of slinging gourmet tacos, the Gardiners have sold Taqueria 27 to new owners Miles Clark and Laxman Paudyal.
“I am looking forward to taking such an amazing company to new heights,” said Miles Clark, new operations manager. “We plan to expand Taqueria 27 with the same high standards that have already been in place. We are very proud of the previous owners’ dedication to very fresh food and cocktails! We would like to continue with their high dedication to our food and drink menus. We are bringing in new liquor options for our guests.”
According to a press release, “Laxman Paudyal, Taqueria 27’s new president, is a successful businessman that has grown from the ground up. He is a military vet that worked with the US military in several countries as a translator. He was born and raised in Nepal. He has been in the United States since 2002, where he put himself through college at BYU. He has successfully run multiple restaurants, including Big Daddy’s Pizza and Carlos And Harleys.”
“Our goals are to continue high-quality service and food standards,” Miles continued. “Our mission is to take care of our guests as though they were at our own dinner tables. Our drive is to provide guests with timely service, great food, and a high-quality work environment for our staff. Our key to success will be our fresh-to-order food and drinks and our knowledge of the restaurant industry.”
Brunch at Mar | Muntanya
Mar | Muntanya, the Spanish-inspired rooftop restaurant at the new downtown Hyatt Regency, is now serving brunch, Wednesday through Sunday from 10:30 to 2:30 p.m.
According to Chef Tyson Peterson and the folks at Mar | Muntanya, “Inspired by the coastal and mountainous regions of Catalonia and the Basque Country of Northern Spain, the brunch menu, similar to the dinner menu, utilizes the bounty provided by farmers, growers and artisans, paired with regional dishes, cultural inspirations and ingredients sourced directly from Spain.”
“On the menu, standout dishes include the Churro French Toast made with creamy brioche, cinnamon sugar and maple syrup; the Short Rib Hash with papas, Manchego, spinach, piquillo peppers and sous-vide egg; and the Shrimp n Grits al Ajillo with paella broth grits, garlic wine butter and Manchego, among other savory and sweet dishes.”
