Jason Hammett – new executive chef at Toscano

Toscano, the south valley’s premier Italian restaurant, has secured the services of Jason Hammett as its Executive Chef. Jason comes to Toscano from Brio Tuscan Grill at City Creek Center, where he served as the executive chef. Prior to Brio, Jason was the Chef/Partner with Buca Di Beppo in Salt Lake City, as well as chef stints with the Salt Lake Hilton Doubletree,  Chez Betty, the Westgate Resorts, and the Yarrow in Park City.

“Jason brings with him a level of understanding, not only of the art of Italian food, but the execution of ingredients, recipes and presentation, moving Toscano’s menu to a higher level of authenticity,” said Jeremy Ford, general manager of the Equiwest Group, owner/operator of Toscano. “As the restaurant has become a significant destination not just for a quality dining experience in the south end of the valley, it has also become the destination for large parties and group dining events and we needed to step up our game to meet the growing demand for the restaurant’s capabilities,” continued Ford, adding that Chef Hammett’s leadership is resulting in changes to our menu, producing a significant upgrade in freshness and flavors replicating, Toscano’s northern Italian menu featuring items from its wood-fired grill, Naples style pizzas, and house-made gelato.”

Toscano is located in the modern-styled copper roof building at 11400 South State just off I-15, and is part of the Equiwest Group that owns and operates the Garage Grill in Draper, Illy Café in Fashion Place Mall, and the RPM Brewery in Salt Lake City. Toscano is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday with private dining rooms, a year-round garden patio, and the ability to host parties up to 250.
