New Red Stickers Warn of Opioid Use Dangers

In an effort to slow the expanding opioid addiction in Utah government and public agencies have teamed up to inform about the danger.

Check out this article from CBS News that talks about a new campaign initiative targeting opioid addiction in Utah. A long-overdue, although temporary, safety measure went into place May 1st throughout Utah in hopes of curbing the opioid epidemic that has plagued the United States for decades. The Utah Health Department, the Utah Pharmacy Association and the Utah Department of Commerce has collaborated on a month-long campaign to create awareness by placing red stickers on opioid bottles that warn patients about the risks of addiction and abuse. The hope is the stickers will prompt patients to ask questions about the possible harmful effects of their medications and how to combat potential issues.
