Coming Soon: Two New Utah Breweries

Be on the lookout for two new breweries opening soon!

JackMormon brewringThe perfect buzz is on the way! Cruser Rowland, owner of Jack Mormon Coffee, and brewer Chris Detrick are teaming to open Jack Mormon Brewing. Currently in the planning stage, they are nevertheless looking at a possible year end opening.

In 2011 Chris brewed 10 barrels of a stout that yielded 1700 twenty ounce bottles. He offered them through Epic and sold out in three weeks with a lot of positive feedback. When they open the brewery Chris says, “It will be a natural to have a couple of coffee flavored beers, but I’ll be working on some other great recipes for the opening.”

Chris started out as a home brewer about ten years ago with his college roommates. He still brews at home and says it is a great way to get just what you want to drink.

For those who are eagerly awaiting the brewery’s opening they will have to be content with the Jack Mormon Coffee Stout shirts that are for sale at Jack Mormon Coffee on 82 E Street in Salt Lake.

Bonneville brewery

Bonneville Brewery will soon be a new addition to the Tooele skyline.  Head brewer David Watson will be offering his American pale ale, dry Irish Stout, golden ale and Belgian light along with other tasty concoctions.  The brewery will be located in the former Tracks Brewing building, 1641 N Main Street. “We’ll have plenty of room to grow and try new things,” Watson said.
