Unhinged Clothing Store in Sugarhouse Utah

Unhinged Clothing Store in Sugarhouse UtahUnhinged” is Salt Lake City’s newest hip clothing and gift boutique. Opened at 1121 East 2100 South, it is sure to be a hit with the hipster crowd and 20-to-30 something urbanites. The vibe in the store is fun and the owner Corey greets me with a warm smile.

After 25 years working in retail, Corey decided to pursue his dream to open a boutique that “someone like myself can feel relaxed shopping at.”

Some boutiques can present a somewhat pretentious impression. Corey counters this by offering a mix of new and vintage clothing for men and women, funky gifts and unusual new and vintage jewelry. The prices are reasonable and there are some distinctive items including screen printed tees with interesting subject matter such as vintage camper trailers, or an abominable snowman being attacked by a shark; brightly colored acid-washed skinny jeans, Chinese Mary-Jane shoes, floral western style snap front shirts, handbags and even luxurious skinny jeans made from cashmere and raw denim.

There is a huge table running down the middle of the store of which Corey is extremely proud. The handsomely refinished wooden antique table came from the original ZCMI in Salt Lake City. It is his favorite thing to tell people about when they visit his store. The table holds a wide assortment of gifts and trinkets like OCD Hand Sanitizer, MAC lip glosses, funky vintage jewelry including wooden clip-on pineapples, candles and rhinestone bangles.

Corey shows support for the community by creating a nook at the front of the store with a bulletin board for people to post events and activities in the area and a place for local publications.
