August 2022 Events and Activities in Salt Lake and Beyond

Here is a short list of August 2022 events and activities taking place in Salt Lake and beyond.

August 8

Sunflower Festival 2022. Presented by Cross E Ranch, this event held at 3500 North 2200 West will feature 16 acres of flowers, photography, treats, soda, and water. Hours are 8am to 9pm

August 9

Yappy Hour. Bring your pups, friends, and family to Fairmont Park 1040 E Sugarmont Drive for a free admission evening of live music, food vendors, and booths. There will be an off-leash area full of tennis balls and toys for the dogs. SL County Animal Services will be there with microchip and licensing services. Proper Brewing Co will be on hand with ice cold beverages (ID required) Hours are 6pm to 9pm

August 10 – 13

Weber County Fair. Held at the Golden Spike Event Center at 1000 North 1200 West, the fair will feature activities, auctions, competitions, concerts, entertainment, exhibits, food, rodeo, and entertainment. You can visit webercountyfair.org for more information. 

August 12

Birds & Brews at the Ogden Nature Center. This annual event will be held from 5:30pm to 9pm at the center, 966 W 12th Street, Ogden. Tickets are $43 for members and $48 for non-members. Included in the price: a souvenir pub glass, beer samples, spirits samples, and a taco meal from El Changarro Loco. Live birds of prey will be on hand along with games. Pre-register as space is limited. 

August 19

Drag Queen Bingo for Street Dawg Crew. The Matrons of Mayhem hold a monthly charity bingo at the First Baptist Church, 777 S 1300 E. This month’s charity is Street Dawg Crew, a nonprofit serving the pets of homeless and other low-income, vulnerable populations. They Provide free pet food and supplies among other things. Doors open at 6 pm and bingo cards are $5.
