Retractions and corrections

In the Moab story, we (I) incorrectly noted that I-70 heads out of Moab into San Juan County, etc. It doesn’t. This should have read “US highway I-191 heading out of Moab into San Juan County.” Also, we didn’t label the first photo from the story as Castle Valley, which it was. Thanks to a reader for pointing out these errors.

From Skinworks School story

Our March story stated that students do not work on the public until after 300 hours of training. According to owner Natalie Parkin, “That is not true, and I would hate for a student to sign up thinking that, then realize we start them just after three weeks. I’m sure that would never happen, but the Department of Education is very strict on misrepresentation.”

She went on to say, “The second thing is similar for the same reasons. The article said we are starting a web design class. While we are in the works of trying to get one started, it is not being taught yet.”

Cover Credit

Last month we didn’t have enough time to give proper credit for the cover. Very special thanks to model Bella Morgan. We used her likeness in the cutout and the original photo is stunning. Follow her on Instagram. While we are at it, we will give credit to the other Utah artists who produced the image: Hair: Sabrina Parrish, Make Up: Myke Huncharek Dy, Wardrobe: Illusions Lab @illusionslab, Photographer: Tawny Horton @tawnyhorton.

We are working on a story on Tawny and Bella. Subscribe to the Utah Stories newsletter to be made aware when our exclusive online content and podcasts are available.

Thank You, Readers:

We love corrections and criticism from our readers. Please don’t hesitate to tell us where we missed the mark, dropped the ball, or completely struck out on stories. How are we to ever grow, learn, and develop without criticism?

Final Word

Get out of your Safe Spaces, millennials. Enter into unsafe spaces, unchartered territory, and scary realms. Places where your fragile opinions are challenged, where you might confront the difficult truth. Do this and your mind and world will expand.
