Where can you experience made-from-scratch food grown on a farm and prepared in the trendiest way possible? At Petersen Family Farm in Riverton! Through October, the farm hosts six to eight food trucks every Friday night from 5-9, each featuring a signature item from the farm on their menu.

“We have chosen trucks that have greater culinary skill and are willing to include farm produce in their menu each week,” explains Petersen Family Farm owner, Luke Petersen. “We absolutely love sharing the simple beauty of the farm, the miracle of life, and what is possible with food and agriculture.”

In its third year, Food Truck Friday is designed to incorporate more freshness into each food truck’s menu while creating a family friendly way for Utah residents to learn about modern-day farming, meet a farm family, eat dinner, and purchase new and different local products available at the Farm Market.

“We have between 500–1000 people out at the farm each week enjoying the food and the farm—shopping in the market, feeding the goats, playing and exploring the farmstead,” Petersen said.

As the event has grown in popularity, Petersen and The Food Truck League have continued to refine the weekly roundup.

“This year we required the trucks have a quiet generator or to plug into ours to create a better farm ambiance,” Petersen said. “These things help give this event extra value and create a local, community atmosphere and experience that is hard to find these days. We’re excited to help build community and a strong sense of place, and get folks back to the basics on the farm.”

Weekly food-truck attendees are posted here, or you can visit their website for more information about Food Truck Friday.
