The Latest Buzz on the Utah Craft Beer Scene

September 24, 2022 by Brooke Williams Leave a Comment

The latest buzz amongst the craft beer brewers and bolsters of the beehive state is now at Salt City Brew Supply in Midvale.  What progressed from an online off-roading interest forum to a home brewing website, to a brick-and-mortar home brew supply store front, now carries hard-to-find local craft beer for off premise consumers. With over 200 different beers to choose from, … [Read more...]

How Utah Craft Beer Builds Community

March 4, 2019 by Richard Markosian Leave a Comment

The Real Cause of Utah's Great Economy (Utah Craft Beer?) Utah Governor Gary Herbert is good at bragging about Utah’s economy and his record for making Utah into an economic powerhouse. He takes credit for Silicon Slopes and attracting huge amounts of tech money to Utah (with generous tax incentives). What Herbert doesn’t respect, nor likely understand, is that authentic … [Read more...]

A Tour of Great Beer, Old Pubs and History in Brussles, Belgium

April 4, 2012 by Richard Markosian Leave a Comment

Brussles, Belgium —alone,  clueless for directions I asked two passers-by where I could find a hostel. And now was my first chance to practice my year of French on actual Francophones. "Excuse moi, monsieuer, ou est ce que une auberge des jenes?"  (Excuse me where is a youth hostel?) With an odd look, two men kindly pointed me in the right direction. I went on with my … [Read more...]

Utah Guide to Alcohol Consumption, Legislation and Parenting

March 19, 2012 by Richard Markosian Leave a Comment

Utah's draconian liquor laws have been written to protect Mormons from non-Mormons. Utah’s State Legislature believes those who don’t drink need to be protected from those who do. Members of the Utah State Legislature  in control of liquor policy have said that wine-coolers are "a date-rape drug." Further, they have imposed the "Zion Curtain" on new Utah restaurants that … [Read more...]
