Fitness options range from frugal to fancy to free — and everything in between. We’ve broken the activities into categories to help you find the ones you care about most.
Whether you’re looking for a government-sponsored venue, a state-of-the-art gym or just a dusty hiking trail, we’ve got you covered.
Davis County Gyms
The SportsPlex provides sports training, youth summer camps and exercise classes in Kaysville. The gym occupies a large building that also houses the Ragnar Relay Series and the Fieldhouse indoor soccer complex.

Skills Fitness in Bountiful has a catchy, little slogan: “Your Will … Our Skill.” The fitness center offers cross training, zumba and VIP memberships. It’s tough to beat this place for convenience. Its operating hours from Monday to Thursday are 4 a.m. to midnight.

Jim’s Gym in Clinton is focused on high-intensity personal training. The workout program is not confined to the gym. Your instructor
may choose to take you outside for a run, weather permitting. It looks like a good option for serious fitness buffs.

Swimming Pools
Layton City’s Surf-N-Swim is best known for its wave pool. In fact, the popular Davis County water park brands itself as “Utah’s year-round ocean.” But this cool, little pool is no one-hit wonder. It also offers such exercise activities as swimming lessons, deep-water aerobics and sand volleyball.

The Clearfield Aquatic Center sports a six-lane lap pool and a splash pad with fountains and geysers. You also can make use of the indoor track, cardio equipment and drop-in daycare.

Hiking Trails
The Legacy Parkway Trail accommodates bicyclists, hikers and horse riders. Trailheads in Farmington, West Bountiful, Woods Cross and North Salt Lake allow easy access to this popular path, which follows the Legacy Highway.
The Bonneville Shoreline Trail runs through Kaysville and has caught the attention of mountain-biking enthusiasts. Exercise stations dot the route.
