Top Events in Utah in September 2024

As the weather starts to cool it is time to celebrate! The Utah State Fair opens. There are festivals galore including FanX, Ogden’s Harvest Moon, 9th and 9th Street Festival, Utah’s Festival of Speed, and Festa Italiana at The Gateway

September 5-15

Utah State Fair. This year’s theme for the Utah State Fair is More of What You Love. With everything Concerts, a rodeo, animal exhibits, entertainment, food, and the midway with rides and games, there is always more to love at the Fair. And don’t forget the butter cow. The Fair opens Thursday, September 5 at noon and continues through Sunday, September 15..

September 14-15

Festa Italiana SLC. This is Salt Lake City’s own Italian Street Festival to experience the tastes, sounds, and culture of Italy. 15 authentic Italian restaurants from around the area will be on hand along with hand-selected wines from Italy. Held at The Gateway from 12pm to 10pm on Saturday and 12pm to 7pm on Sunday. Proceeds will be contributed to Catholic Community Services and other charities to support homeless and refugee outreach services.  

September 21

Ogden’s Harvest Moon Celebration. Present by Ogden Downtown Alliance at Ogden’s Historic 25th Street. Celebrate the end of summer with family-friendly activities, live music by local artists, food and artisan vendors, and Free entry. Held from 10am to 9pm. 

September 21

2024 9th and 9th Street Festival. Present by the East Liberty Community Organization. This local festival is free, kid friendly, pet friendly, music friendly, food friendly, art friendly and neighbor friendly! Shop, eat, mingle and listen to music. Held from 10am to 6pm,

September 26-28

Join Salt Lake’s biggest party, FanX, at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Doors open on Thursday September 26, at 2pm and continues through Saturday, September 28. This year’s guests include Mel Gibson, Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd, Sean Astin and Dominic Monaghan from the Lord of the Rings movies, voice actors, and more. The floor will feature vendor artists, writers, and creators.   

September 28

2024 Wings and Wheels Utah’s Festival of Speed. Held at the Spanish Fork Airport, attendees can view static aircraft displays, a car show, food trucks and vendors, skydivers, aerobatic airshow, car vs. plane race, and more. Admission is $30 with kids under $10 free and additional fees for some of the rides. 8am to 6pm. Visit here for advance tickets.
