There is something for everyone in August whether you are into smashing cars, musical raft trips, or island culture.

August 5-26

Eccles Art Center Summer Art Fair in Ogden. The Summer Art Fair, featuring visual and performing artists will be held each Saturday in August from 10am to 2pm. Performances will be from 11:30am to 1:30pm and an art table with supplies will be available for those interested.  The Eccles Art Center Complex is located at 2580 Jefferson Ave, Ogden.  Visit here for more information

August 10

2023 Demolition Derby & Lawn Mower Races. Ticket booth opens at 5pm, tickets $15, and the gates open at 6pm. Last driver whose vehicle is still operational is the victor. Anyone 16 and over can enter the lawn mower races. Held at Duchesne County Fairgrounds, 60 W 400 S. 

August 10-12

26th Annual Friendly Island Tongan Festival. Held at the Jordan Park, 1060 S 900 W in Salt Lake with food vendors, arts & crafts, performances, music, sports, and more. Free admission and open to the public. 

August 20-23

Westwater Canyon Musical Raft Trip. This is a three-day, two-night trip through Westwater Canyon in conjunction with the Moab Music Festival. Musicians will give daily concerts during the trip. Tickets are available here.

August 25

SPAYghetti & No Balls, the Last CarniBALL. This event will be held at The Hilton, 255 S West Temple, Salt Lake City at 6pm and is $100 per person. Celebrate the Salt Lake County Animal Services as they reach 10 years as the largest, lifesaving, municipal shelter in Utah. Includes a social hour, dinner, live music, and silent auction. This is an over 21 event and pets are not allowed. Money goes to sustaining low-income spays and neuters.  

August 26

Salt Lake City Coffee Festival. Featuring coffees from all over the world and a Latte Art competition. Baristas will compete for a $500 grand prize. Held at 132 S 800 W from 10am to 5pm. Tickets range from $15 to $40.
