SALT LAKE CITY (November 2019) – The Salt Lake Unity Fest will be held December 12-15, 2019 at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Fest is a multi-day event uniting the LGBTQ+ community and our allies, through sports and exclusive events. This annual festival will feature sports competitions and fun nightly events that will showcase the best of Salt Lake’s urban amenities.

At the inaugural event, volleyball, pickleball, basketball, dodgeball, swimming, bowling, futsal, roller derby, and trivia will debut. Competition is open to anyone aged 18 or older. Participants may register as an individual or as a team for any of the nine sporting events. Registration begins at just $75. “Sports Festivals are popping up all over the country and the LGBTQ+ Community deserves to be introduced to an incredibly welcoming, inclusive, and urban city that can host a sports fest,” says Michelle McCardell, event organizer.

Each night, community events will take place at the Salt Palace to raise money to benefit local LGBTQ+ organizations. The benefitted organizations include Encircle, the Utah Pride Center, Stonewall Sports SLC, and Queer Spectra Arts.

These exclusive nightly events will consist of an Opening Kickoff Party with a concert by Foreign Figures (Thursday, December 12), a family game night with a drag show and a bar bus (Friday, December 13), and a DJ dance night (Saturday, December 14). Tickets for these exclusive nightly events start at just $5 and can be purchased at: https://www.saltlakeunityfest.com/schedule.

The Salt Lake Unity Fest would be impossible without the invaluable partnership of Visit Salt Lake, the Utah Pride Center, the Utah Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, Stonewall Sports SLC, and the Queer Utah Aquatic Club (QUAC).
