Moab Free Concert Series  

July 5, 12, 19, 26—Every Friday night in July at Swanny City Park, 400 N 100 W, Moab from 6–8 pm. Click on the link for a list of performers. 

Obon Japanese Festival

July 13—The 2019 Obon Festival will be held at the Salt Lake Buddhist Temple (211 W 100 S) starting at 3 pm. Featured events include Obon dancing, a taiko drum performance by the Ogden Buddhist Church, and Japanese food for sale.  The Obon Festival is held in recognition of a story found in the Ullambana Sutra and involves Mogallana, a disciple of Shakyamuni Buddha. Mogallan learns the true meaning of gratitude and his joy was so great he began to dance. 

Best Friends Su-Purrr Adoption at The Gateway

July 13—Held from 10–4 pm at The Gateway (400 W 100 S). This event will have hundreds of adoptable cats. Sponsored by Best Friends Animal Society. Adoptions start at $25

Tunes at Noon

July 17—Featuring Hit N Miss at the Corner Plaza (2501 Washington Blvd, Ogden) from 12–1 pm. Take your lunch break on the grass and listen to musical artists playing the grassy knoll at the corner of 25th and Washington. Bring your own lunch. Check historic25.com/calendar/ for additional Tunes at Noon. 

Cycling: Iron Lung Ride

July 20—32, 80 or 120-mile options out and back starting at This is the Place Heritage Park. The route then heads up Emigration Canyon through Morgan County, climbing Trappers and turning around for the return trip near Snowbasin Resort

Mountain Man Rendezvous

July 19 and 20—Will take place at the American West Heritage Center. Go back in time to the Cache Valley Mountain Man Rendezvous. Learn about the life of mountain men, check out Traders Row, throw a tomahawk and become a Mountain Man with a skill demonstration. Admission is $6 per person. The American West Heritage Center is located at 4025 S. Hwy 89-91, Wellsville. 

The Ogden Nature Center presents The Waifs—an outdoor summer concert

July 31—The concert will start at 7 pm and the gates will open at 6pm. This event combines an outdoor setting with talented folk-rock musicians. It will be held in the glen behind the Ogden Nature Center’s rustic Visitor Center (966 W 12th Street) Bring your picnic blankets and enjoy live music.  $25 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under
