March Utah Happenings

March 10-13—Skinny Tire Festival in Moab. Four days of supported road cycling in the scenic western landscape of Moab, featuring 40-60 mile routes through Dead Horse Point State Park and the Colorado River Corridor. A portion of every registration benefits cancer research and survivorship programs. For more information, visit their website.

March 20-22—30th Annual Art and Soup Celebration. Presented by Community Nursing Services, the Art and Soup Celebration features original art by 52 Utah artists along with samplings of soups, desserts and baked goods donated by more than 20 local restaurants. Artists were selected from a variety of mediums including oil, watercolor, glass, ceramics, and more. Participating artists donate 30% of their sales to CNS Charitable Care Program, providing home health and hospice to thousands of uninsured and underinsured low-income Utahns across the state. Held each evening from 6pm-9pm at the Salt Palace Convention Center, 100 South West Temple, Salt Lake City. Tickets are available online and at the door.

March 24-25—Red Butte Garden Spring Bonsai Show. Discover Bonsai, the Japanese art of growing miniature trees in containers. Members of The Bonsai Club of Utah will exhibit different bonsai styles and arrangements, and offer demonstrations of training and shaping techniques. Trees and tools will also be available for purchase directly from the experts. Saturday from 9am-5pm & Sunday from 9am-3:30pm. Garden members: free. General public: regular garden admission.

March 29-April 1—2018 Fort Buenaventura Easter Rendezvous. Relive pre-1840s frontier history at the 32nd Annual Rendezvous. Held each year on Easter Weekend at the Fort Buenaventura Park, 2450 A Avenue, Ogden. Featuring shooting contests, recreation of fur trade gatherings, canoe races, primitive camping and more. March 30-31—St. George Art Festival. The festival will feature more than 110 amazing artists, talented entertainers, a wide array of delicious food, and much more. The kid’s area will have craft projects, games, face painting, petting zoo, and many fun activities. Town Square, 50 S Main Street, St. George. Hours: 10am-6pm. Click here for more information.
