Flanker Christmas Parlor Returns
The folks at Flanker Kitchen + Sporting Club say they are “Thrilled to announce the dates for its highly anticipated holiday pop-up bar, A Christmas Parlor. Starting Monday, November 25th, the creative and festive themed bar will open to the public six days a week.”
“A Christmas Parlor has been one of our most sought-after, popular activities at Flanker,” explains Sean Christie, CEO of Carver Road Hospitality, the group that owns and operates Flanker Kitchen + Sporting Club. “Flanker is known for offering exciting and unexpected experiences and we especially like to wow our guests during the holiday season,” he adds.
“This year’s theme will feature holiday pop-culture references along with interactive Santa’s Workshop decor. The immersive, magical holiday parlor will be the hot spot for Utahns to sip festive holiday cocktails, visit with friends, and even enjoy a live DJ on select evenings.”
Last year The Christmas Parlor was sold out throughout the holiday season so reservations are highly recommended.
The new special menu of holiday cocktails is created by mixologist and Carver Road Hospitality VP of Beverage, Francesco Lafranconi. The newly-curated cocktail menu features playful tributes to holiday moments, including the decadent “Nakatomi Office Party,” a creamy peppermint blend garnished with a festive candy cane, and “Clark’s Holiday Shenanigans,” a rich, sophisticated twist on traditional eggnog. “Each cocktail comes with unique, festive cocktail glass and garnishes that punctuate the holiday atmosphere,” says Lafanconi.
The holiday dining menu at A Christmas Parlor features nostalgic comfort food with an elevated twist. Highlights include Little Nero’s Cheese Pizza, crafted with traditional red sauce and premium mozzarella, festive Jumbo Holiday Wings glazed in cranberry chili sauce, and Roasted Turkey Sliders complemented by cherry-bourbon jam and rosemary au jus.
A Christmas Parlor will be open Mondays through Saturdays at 5pm, beginning November 25th with reservations highly recommended in advance.
Ritual Unwraps Festive Chocolate Trio
Shoppers looking to fill their own stockings or spread some holiday cheer have the luxury of choosing from three distinct Ritual Chocolate holiday classics this season: the Gingerbread Toffee Crisp Oat Milk Chocolate Bar, Hygge Drinking Chocolate, and Gingerbread Hot Cocoa Drops.
“So often, our memories and traditions are rooted in the food – and the moments – we share, much like the holiday season. What better way to celebrate that than with chocolate?” says Ritual Chocolate Co-Founder Anna Seear. “We are so excited to offer such a decadent lineup of seasonal products for chocolate lovers of all ages and preferences to unwrap this season, and we can’t wait to see what favorites they choose.”
The craft chocolate makers at Heber’s Ritual Chocolate describe their trio of special holiday products like this:
Gingerbread Toffee Crisp Bar (53%)
Spiced Oat Milk Chocolate with Molasses Toffee Crisp
Experience a delicate dance of spices and crunch in the Gingerbread Toffee Crisp Bar. A winter spice blend adds warmth and depth to a sweet and creamy oat milk chocolate blend. Topped with a crisp and airy toasted molasses toffee to give all the warm holiday feels.
Hygge Drinking Chocolate (65%)
Dark Chocolate with Warm Winter Spices
Pronounced “hoo-ga,” hygge is a Danish practice of finding comfort, contentment, and well-being in everyday moments. This decadent drinking chocolate invites sippers to sit, get cozy, and savor its warm, winter spices.
Gingerbread Hot Cocoa Drops (65%)
Vegan Marshmallows with Spiced Oat Milk Chocolate and Toasted Molasses
These little drops of joy have a soft marshmallow center coated in creamy spiced chocolate and a dusting of toasted molasses. These gems can be enjoyed on their own, dropped into hot milk or cocoa, or added to a favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.
In-store pickup and shipping options are available from Ritual Chocolate.
More Weller’s to Love
I’ve been a big fan of the German fare at Weller’s Bistro in Layton since it opened in August of 2019. The food there is great and so is the incredibly friendly staff. So, I was thrilled to hear that Jan Weller, his partner Jessica and their team are opening a second Weller’s Bistro location in early 2025. The new location will be in Ogden’s Monarch building in the space that was previously W B’s Eatery. Stay tuned to Utah Bites for further updates.
