Two Old Guys World Tour 2022

Looking for live music? Two Old Guys – aka Michael Feldman and Tally Evans – play every Thursday at 6 p.m. at Root’d Cafe and on the first Monday of every month at Hopkins Brewing Company. You can enjoy their entertaining mix of ballads, blues, bawdy tunes, drinking songs, favorite covers, and originals at both venues and elsewhere (check Facebook).

Root’d Cafe in Cottonwood Heights features a range of tasty sandwiches, burgers, tacos and salads, including a nice selection of vegetarian and gluten-free options, plus beer and wine in a friendly atmosphere. At Hopkins Brewing Company in Sugarhouse you’ll find their bodacious craft brews, obviously, as well as fresh-made foods ranging from avocado toast and a Philly cheesesteak, to veggie tacos, raspberry rocket salad, a vegan burger, quinoa salad, rockin’ Reuben and much more. Basque Dinner Dance

On Saturday, January 29th, the Basque Club of Utah will present their 38th Annual Basque Dinner and Dance, starting with a social at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

Dinner menu items include leek soup, tossed green salad, Basque chicken, New York strip roast, parsley-buttered potato, green beans, bread (ogia), eclairs, and edari beverages. In addition, there will be a raffle and silent auction, plus a Basque dance performance by the Utah’ko Triskalariak, and dancing after dinner to the music of Jean Flesher. Beer and wine will be available.

The Basque Dinner and Dance will be held at the St. Vincent Catholic Church in the Holy Family Hall. Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for kids 12 & under and can be purchased by clicking here

Germanfest Returns to Ogden

Sneddon HOF Germanfest is returning to Ogden in a new location for 2022. On January 21 & 22, Germanfest will be held at the Ogden Eccles Conference Center from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Free parking is available in the Parking Garage on Kiesel Avenue.

I’m told that Germanfest will feature authentic German food and music with “all the brats and schnitzel you can eat.” This year’s entertainment features Salzburger Echo, Park City Polka Players, and the Gruber Family Band. Make sure to wear your Lederhosen and to bring your best chicken dance moves! This is a family fun festival, so bring the kids. Individual tickets are available as well as family passes and can be purchased here
