A New Chapter in Log Haven’s Kitchen
With the recent change in ownership of Log Haven restaurant, changes are coming in the kitchen, as well.

Chef Dave Jones
Here is what the owners of Log Haven had to say about a new chapter for the restaurant’s culinary team. “For over 30 years, the heart of Log Haven has been shaped by the passion, creativity, and mentorship of our Chef Dave Jones. Today, we’re excited to share an evolution in our kitchen—one that honors that legacy while looking ahead to an inspiring future.”
“After many remarkable years leading our culinary program, Chef Dave Jones will be stepping into a new role as Culinary Advisor. His influence will continue to guide and inspire, while allowing the next generation of leadership to grow under his mentorship.”

Head Chef Todd Hoffee
“Stepping into the role of Head Chef is someone many of you may already know and appreciate—Todd Hoffee. Todd has been an integral part of Log Haven as Sous Chef for over a decade. His approach to the kitchen reflects everything Log Haven stands for: collaboration, creativity, and a deep respect for both the craft and the people behind it. Todd is passionate about continuing Chef Dave’s legacy of mentorship, fostering an environment where line cooks are encouraged to grow, contribute ideas, and develop their own culinary voices. He believes the best menus are not created in isolation, but through a shared creative process—where ideas are exchanged, refined, and brought to life as a team. Todd is quick to express his gratitude to Chef Dave for the knowledge, experience, and opportunities that have shaped his journey and strengthened his culinary perspective.”

Sous Chef Dayton Case
“Joining him in this new chapter is our new Sous Chef, Dayton Case. Dayton’s passion for cooking began at a young age, when his mother would gift him cookbooks and he
would prepare meals for his family. He later honed his skills through the culinary program at Salt Lake Community College and has continued to grow within the Log Haven kitchen. His creativity is already reflected on our menu—our beloved chicken entrée is his own creation.”
“Dayton is driven by a love of learning new techniques and exploring new ideas, often
drawing inspiration from the same global culinary community that fuels so many chefs today. A former high school hockey player, he brings both discipline and teamwork into the kitchen. Most importantly, he deeply values the supportive and mentorship-focused culture that Chef Dave established—one that stands in contrast to the more traditional, high-pressure kitchen environments—and is excited to help carry that forward.”
“This transition is not a departure from what makes Log Haven special—it’s a continuation of it. A kitchen rooted in mentorship, collaboration, and a genuine love of hospitality. We look forward to welcoming this new chapter with you. Congratulations Chef Todd and Dayton!”
