Japanese-Italian Gossip Kitchen Opens

Gossip Kitchen – a collaboration between Chef Soy (Batsaikhan Ariunbold of Mint Tapas & Sushi) and Carmine Delli Bovi (Carmine’s Italian Cuisine) – held a soft opening last Friday in advance of opening to the public. It is located in SLC at 152 East 200 South.

The new eatery features Asian and Italian fare. However, this is not a fusion enterprise a la Junah. Rather, there are distinctly Italian menu items and distinctly Asian ones. Of their new restaurant, the owners say “Hidden in the heart of Salt Lake City, Gossip isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience meant to be discovered, shared, and talked about.”

The Japanese Tapas portion of the Gossip Kitchen menu features items like Tuna Tataki, Poke Tostadas,Toro Sashimi, Massaman Shrimp, Salmon Crudo and such. On the Italian side are dishes such as Spaghetti Carbonara, Pizzas, Lasagna, Fettuccine Bolognese, 4-Cheese Ravioli, Fried Calamari,Tagliatelle Porcini and the like. Again, very much not fusion food.

Gossip Kitchen also has a full bar with premium cocktails curated by lead bartender Jacob Rosevar, wine, beer, spirits, sake and such. The owners say, “First come first serve! We welcome walk-ins. Reservations are required for parties of 6 or more.”
