Across Utah, independent breweries are expanding, innovating, and building communities. From new production facilities and anniversary celebrations to seasonal releases and packed event calendars, the state’s craft beer scene continues to evolve while staying rooted in local ownership and creativity.

The Moab Brewery

In Moab, The Moab Brewery is stepping into the ready-to-drink space with two new canned malt beverages. These five percent malt cocktails are available in Fruit Punch and Margarita flavors, bringing a refreshing option to the brewery’s lineup.

In addition, The Moab Brewery has opened its beer garden at the food truck park located at 39 W 100th N in Moab. Guests can enjoy all draft and canned beers served while enjoying the foods from local food trucks, adding another gathering place to the Moab community.

Roosters Brewing Co. – 30 Years in Ogden

When Roosters Brewing Co opened in 1995 on Historic 25th Street in Ogden — once known as the infamous “Two-Bit Street” — the area was a boarded-up downtown in need of revival. Thirty years later, both the street and the brewery have undergone a remarkable transformation.

Today, Roosters operates its original 25th Street location, Roosters Layton, a production brewery and taphouse known as Roosters B Street, and a satellite location at the Salt Lake Airport. The 25th Street and Layton locations remain fully operational brew houses, producing seasonal and experimental beers. B Street focuses on core beers and houses the full canning line for distribution.

Family-friendly in Ogden and Layton, and 21+ at the B Street Tap House, Roosters remains independently owned and proudly based in Ogden.

Ongoing events include:

  • The Coop by Roosters (Layton):
First Wednesdays “Cellar Nights” in partnership with Jim Santangelo and Wine Academy of Utah
    Live Music every Thursday
  • Roosters B Street (Ogden):
    Trivia Tuesdays
    Music Bingo Wednesdays
    Live Music Thursdays

Coming soon to Roosters on 25th Street is “Whiskey & History,” a monthly offering featuring rotating local distillers. Follow @roostersbrewing for current event schedules.

Cheers to 30 years of good beer, a gritty town, and great people.

Red Rock Brewing – A New Chapter

Red Rock Brewing has overcome key bureaucratic hurdles for its new brewery located on 400 North 400 West. The team has rerouted main power and installed the primary junction necessary to feed power to the new facility.

The new brewery will span approximately 15,000 square feet and will include a new tap room, beer store, restaurant kitchen, and event space alongside expanded brewing operations.

RoHa Brewing – Precision, Passion, and Perseverance

RoHa Brewing has entered a new chapter under new owners Jeni and Shawn Smith, who recently purchased the brewery after beginning to build their own brand from the ground up.

Shawn’s passion for beer predates ownership. By day a neurointensivist, he brings a focus on precision, systems, and problem-solving to brewing. His process-driven mindset shapes experimentation with recipes and refinement in pursuit of the perfect beer.

After a serious speed-flying crash forced recovery and reflection, the opportunity to step into RoHa became a family venture. Alongside Jeni and Steele, Shawn is building the brewery around curiosity, craftsmanship, and connection.

Prodigy Brewing – Seasonal Flavor and Community Craft

Prodigy Brewing is releasing True Blue Scottish Ale, described as brilliant ruby-red with a creamy off-white head. Aromas of roasted malt, toffee, and dark fruit lead into a smooth, full-bodied profile layered with caramel sweetness, raisin, and subtly smokey roast. The finish is clean, low in bitterness, and endlessly drinkable.

Planning is also underway for the 3rd Annual Community Craft Beer Fest, set for April 26 in downtown Logan. The festival will feature Utah craft breweries, live music, yard games, food trucks, local vendors, and more.

Utah Brewers Guild News

Utah’s brewing community will once again come together for its annual collaborative beer festival, The Great Beer Mashup. The event will be held on Saturday, May 9th at Woodbine Food Hall in Salt Lake City.

The Mashup highlights collaboration across Utah breweries, bringing together unique partnership brews and celebrating the strength of the state’s independent craft scene.

From Moab to Logan, Ogden to Salt Lake City, Utah’s breweries continue to expand production, introduce new experiences, and build gathering spaces that anchor their communities.
