Utah September 2025 Events Guide: Festivals, Fairs, Music & More

September in Utah comes alive with music, food, and celebration! Sing along at the Moab Music Festival, taste summer sweetness at Green River Melon Days, cheer at the Utah State Fair, and embrace culture at Festa Italiana. From science fests to FanX Salt Lake, the month is filled with unforgettable experiences.

August 27-September 12

The Moab Music Festival’s 33rd Season runs from August 27 to September 12, 2025, with new executive director, Mette Bryndum. The event includes 33 artists appearing in 20 performances in outdoor and historic venues, including grotto, ranch, and float concerts, music hikes, and rafting trips. Highlights include debuts by Sierra Hull, seven-time GRAMMY-winning bassist Edgar Meyer, People of Earth, pianist Inon Barnatan, cellist Joshua Roman, celebrity author and chef Kenji López-Alt, and a world premiere Moab Music Festival commission by composer-in-residence Viet Cuong. September 4-14

Utah State Fair at the Utah State Fairpark, 155 N 1000 W, Salt Lake City. Entertainment, the butter cow, fried everything, competitions, homemade goods, vendors, rides, rodeo, and more. This year’s theme is “Nowhere But The Fair”. Experience a traditional fair atmosphere and see what’s new in spas and backyard sheds. 

September 7-9, September 12-14, September 17-19

She Who Creates Retreats. Consisting of hands-on workshops for creating journals and journaling, movement classes, time for reflection. Choose from three retreat dates in September. Details will be mailed in a welcome packet. Registration is located here.

September 11

2025 First Responders Celebration. Held from 6 pm to 8 pm at The Orchard at University Place, Orem. Meet Orem City’s First Responders to learn what they do and about the vehicles they do it in. Supplies available to write thank you notes, along with free crafts and treats, while supplies last. There will be a 9/11 Remembrance Display in the shopping center by Tradehome Shoes. The 9/11 Healing Field will be in The Orchard, with 2,977 flags, one for each person that died in the September 11, 2001 attacks. 

September 12-13

Rocky Mountain Regional Homesteaders Conference & Fair. This event is presented by American West Heritage Center at 4025 S Hwy 89-91, Wellsville. There will be hands-on demonstrations, workshops, and community connection for those passionate about self-sufficiency and sustainable living. Tickets can be purchased here.

September 13

2025 Dixie Days Dash. Celebrate the history of St. George and run in the 2K or 4K on the parade route. This is a fun run, not a timed race. After the Dash, warm scones will be provided by the St. George Exchange Club. Other events include a parade and more. Held on Main St. between Tabernacle and 100 S. Start time is 8 am. 

September 13

Muppet Treasure Island Sing-Along. Held at Peery’s Egyptian Theater, 2415 Washington Blvd. Ogden. Doors open at 9 am and the show starts at 10 am. Tickets are $8 and must be purchased in advance here. This is a fundraiser for Ogden’s Christmas Village. 

September 13-14

From a Woman, Moab Women’s Festival. Two days of entertainment, workshops, and celebrations under the Moab sky. Live music, off-road adventures, and hands-on art will be featured. Tickets can be purchased at moabwomensfestival.org.

September 13-14

Festa Italiana 2025. Held on at The Gateway, 400 W 200 S, Salt Lake City, Utah. This two-day event, presented by the Italian American Civic League, celebrates Italian culture with live entertainment, diverse Italian food and beer/wine, historical displays, exotic Italian cars, and an arts & crafts market. Admission is free, and the event supports local and national non-profit organizations. Saturday 11:30am to 10pm, Sunday 11:30am to 7pm.

September 17-21

Moab Festival of Science. This event is sponsored by a non-profit and explores the wonders and value of the Colorado Plateau during this interactive, annual 3-day festival. There will be a variety of free events showing the wonders and value of science, including a GeoTour and activities with the National Park Service, astronomy, archaeology, and events for kids. September 19-20

Green River Melon Days. This year Melon Days will celebrate 119 years of growing melons in Green River, Utah. It will be held at O.K. Anderson Park, 100 Solomon St., Green River. Includes a Fair, pony rides, softball tournaments, a melon run, parade, and most important, tips on how to pick a good watermelon.

September 20

Harvest Moon Celebration. Held from 10 am to 9 pm, this event takes place in Ogden on Historic 25th Street. As summer comes to an end, Ogden celebrates with their largest end-of-summer bash. This is a free event featuring a full day of fall harvest themed, family-friendly activities, including live performances and local artisan vendors. 

September 25-27

FanX 2025. Salt Lake’s biggest party returns to the Salt Palace, 100 S West Temple, with a full lineup of celebrity guests, artists, writers, vendors, Kidcon, photo ops, food and more. Presale tickets can be found at fanxsaltlake.com.
