Utah Restaurant Association Fire Fundraiser

The Utah Restaurant Association has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser to assist employees and owners of restaurants devastated by this week’s downtown SLC fire.

This is from the URA:

“Help Downtown SLC Restaurants rebuild after Devastating Fire.”

“On August 11th, a massive fire in downtown Salt Lake City damaged and destroyed several beloved Restaurants-Bar’s, London Belle, White Horse, Whisky Street, and Los Tapatios.”

“The Utah Restaurant Association has created this fund to help the owners and employees of these establishments recover some of their losses. This includes support for those that may still be operational but are still facing smoke, water or financial impacts.”

“All donations will go directly toward helping staff, and aiding in replacing equipment loss and helping these Owners rebuild so they can once again serve our community.”

“Your support – big or small- will make a difference.”

“Thank you for helping our restaurant industry at this difficult time.”

Sugar House Station Reggae Brunch

Sugar House Station will host a reggae brunch this Sunday, August 17th from 11 AM to 2 PM. Here is what Sugar House Station’s Scott Evans had to say about it:

“This one has been in my brain for quite some time and I am excited to share it with Sugar House. Many years ago I hatched this plan with an old DJ Friend – DJ Rebel – to spin some mellow loungey Reggae tunes for our brunch at Zola Restaurant. We successfully launched our first and only reggae brunch. Unbeknownst to me, the restaurant had planned to swap over to the Squatters Loft the day after our first event. I have been sitting on this ever since, waiting for the perfect venue. Enter Brad Brad Wheeler with his mighty connections and support. Then bam!, Reggae Brunch is back baby, bigger and better.”

He continues, “So, really that’s it. Reggae tunes each week from a variety of local talent while sipping mimosas and Irish coffees in a rehabbed post office with 11 local restaurants and bars. I really hope this one takes off. I’ll be there.”

Sugar House Station restaurants and bars include Birdhouse, Cannella’s, Casot, Greek Tyrant by Aristo, Pizza Bar, Proper Burger & Brewing, Publik Coffee, Santo Taco, Sugar House Distillery and Waterpocket Distillery.
