Your Guide to Utah’s Best June 2025 Events and Activities

From soapbox races at the Capitol to owl treks in the Wasatch, June 2025 is packed with unforgettable events across Utah. Whether you’re into Broadway tunes, pet portraits, or Olympic spirit, there’s something happening near you.

June 10 

2025 Huntsman Day at This is the Place. Due to donations from the Jon and Karen Huntsman family, there will be free admission and free ice cream on June 10. Hours are 10am to 5pm with lots of fun activities planned. This is the Place Heritage Park is located at 2601 Sunnyside Ave. 

 June 10

Harmonic Winds of Utah presents ‘A Night on Broadway’ The wind ensemble will play Broadway tunes at the Layton Ed Kenley Amphitheater, at 403 N Wasatch Dr, Layton. The concert is free for all ages. This is an outdoor event and concert goers are invited to bring blankets. 7pm to 8:30pm

June 12 

Night Owls: Following Flammulated Owls in Northern Utah. Presented by HawkWatch International with a meeting location at the Shooting Star Saloon in Huntsville. After parking, the group will move to Snowbasin Ski Resort to search for and trap flammulated owls. There will also be experts on hand to educate about these small elusive owls of the Wasatch Mountains. Time is 6pm to 11pm and it is suggested to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. A ticket price of $200 includes dinner and transportation to the site. Tickets can be purchased here.

June 12-14

Off-Grid Homesteading Community Festival. This three day festival will have several presentations on off-grid living including food preservation, making your own yogurt, beekeeping, natural health options, soap making and more. June 14 

Red Bull Soapbox Race Utah. Presented by Utah Sports Commission at the Utah State Capitol Building. This event has been held for more than 20 years with participants pushing their skills in creativity, engineering, and driving, in a global affair with over a hundred races hosted worldwide. The Utah event will host teams of up to five people racing their soapbox cars from the State Capitol grounds down Main Street. Salt Lake is designated as one of three US tour stops this year. June 14

Flag Retirement Ceremony. Presented by America’s Freedom Festival at Provo Veterans Memorial Park, 800 E Center St. A night to honor firefighters, police, safety officers, and paramedic first responders. Featuring speakers and then the retirement of worn and tattered flags by the American legion and DAR youth. “This event respectfully retires flags that have become so tattered and worn that they no longer properly represent the great sacrifices and values of the United States.” Retired flags should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning according to the US Flag Code. Start time at 7pm.

June 14

Utah Criterium Bike Race and Community Expo at Sandy City Hall and Promenade, 10000 Centennial Parkway. Cycle racing, live entertainment, local vendors and more. The purpose of the event is to help promote health and wellness and community connection. Things kick off at 8:30am and wrap up at 8pm. 

June 21

Utah Olympic and Paralympic Day 2025. Celebrate the Olympic/Paralympic spirit from 3pm to 6pm at Utah Olympic Park, 3419 Olympic Way, Park City. Guests will receive an event passport to encourage participation in all the available free events. Those that complete all activities will receive free entry in the Flying Ace All-Stars Freestyle Pool Show. Activities will include a push track experience, laser biathlon, a workout with an Olympian, and more. There will also be a DJ, photo opportunities, and memorabilia from the Alf Engen Ski Museum. The Flying Ace All-Stars show will have Team USA Olympians and National Team skiers and snowboarders performing acrobatic feats in the air and splashing down into the Park’s Spence Eccles Olympic Freestyle Pool. 

June 21

Bears Ears Ultra in Monticello, featuring 30K, 50K and 50 Mile runs. With views of Canyonlands and Bears Ears National Monument and more topping out at near 11,000 feet. Registration is available at the website.

June 21-22

Summer Pet Portraits by The Photo Box. Held at the Murray Humane Society, 4242 S 300 W, Murray. Schedule a 15 minute session for $45 and receive an 8×10 print. Proceeds will support the Humane Society of Utah. Sign up here.

June 28

Cat Logic Behavior and Training Class from 10am to 12pm at Murray Humane Society, 4242 S 300 W, Murray. Learn how to decode cat behavior, body language, and enrichment. $10 donation goes to help Humane Society cats. Sign up at this website.

July 4 

4th of July 2025 Celebration at The Gateway. Held from 6pm to 10pm on The Gateway Plaza with two stages: live music and DJs on the Plaza Stage and Karaoke on the South Stage. Also featuring yard games, face painting, contests, and photo-ops. Fireworks at 10pm. No coolers, outside food and beverages, large canopies, or large bags. 

Coming up: The Moab Music Festival’s 33rd Season runs from August 27 to September 12, 2025, with new executive director, Mette Bryndum,includes 33 artists appearing in 20 performances in outdoor and historic venues, including grotto, ranch, and float concerts, music hikes, and rafting trips. Highlights include debuts by Sierra Hull, seven-time GRAMMY-winning bassist Edgar Meyer, People of Earth, pianist Inon Barnatan, cellist Joshua Roman, celebrity author and chef Kenji López-Alt, and a world premiere Moab Music Festival commission by composer-in-residence Viet Cuong.
