Park City Chefs Heading for NYC

A handful of talented Park City restaurant chefs are heading to New York City this fall to cook at the newest James Beard endeavor, Platform by the James Beard Foundation. 

According to the Park City Area Restaurant Association (PCARA), “Executive Chef Clement Gelas with Courchevel Bistro, Executive Chef Michael Showers with High West Distillery, Chef Carlos Segura with Pendry Park City, Co-owner and Executive Chef Seth Adams with Riverhorse on Main, Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage Zane Holmquist with The Stein Collection and Co-owner and Executive Chef Matthew Harris with tupelo will present their finest dishes and cocktails at events in New York City September 2024. In addition, High West Distillery and Alpine Distilling will feature the spirit component of the events.”

“We are incredibly thrilled at the opportunity to bring Park City’s exceptional culinary talents to Platform by the James Beard Foundation next fall,” Park City Area Restaurant Association executive director Ginger Wicks said. “Congratulations to our PCARA members who have been chosen to showcase their creativity and expertise, while representing our esteemed culinary community.”

Located in the brand-new Market 57 food hall, Platform by the James Beard Foundation is a state-of-the-art show kitchen and educational space for outstanding culinary arts programming. Alongside Good To Go by JBF, a unique food kiosk where innovation meets sustainable, ethically sourced, delicious food in a rotating fast-casual menu, both entities are the physical manifestation of the Beard Foundation’s Good Food for Good® mission.

SnowWiesn Returns to Snowbasin

SnowWiesn at Snowbasin Resort kicked off last weekend and takes place every Sunday through October 6th, from noon to 6 p.m. SnowWiesn Oktoberfest is a German-themed fall festival in the mountains. Named after d’Wiesn, the local nickname for Oktoberfest in Germany referring to the fairgrounds. It features Bavarian food, craft beer and drinks, live music, a local market and fun activities.

SnowWiesn is dog friendly – furry friends are invited. Single day tickets are $10 per person. 

Fratelli Beer Dinner

On Sunday, August 25th, 2024 the folks at Fratelli Ristorante in Sandy will team up with Uinta Brewing to host a special beer pairing dinner from 5 to 8 pm. The dinner will be five courses, paired with (optional) unique Uinta brews. The cost for the Uinta beer dinner at Fratelli’s is $50 per person for food and $30 per person for the optional beer pairings. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 801-495-4550.
