New Seasonal Desserts @ Log Haven

Up at the beautiful Log Haven restaurant in Millcreek Canyon, Chef Dave Jones, Sous Chef Todd Hoffee, Pastry Chef Steve Takahashi and the culinary team have been busy whipping up some new seasonal dessert items to accompany the recent entree and appetizer additions to the menu.

Included on the new dessert menu is gluten-free Strawberry Panna Cotta with strawberry crunch, whipped cream, chocolate curls and strawberry sauce; as well as a new Warm French Chocolate Cake dessert with chocolate sauce, fresh raspberries, and coffee ice cream.

Food Truck Face Off

Food trucks have become a huge hit here in Utah and elsewhere, in part thanks to the pandemic when restaurants had to close but food trucks were able to operate safely. If you’re a food truck lover like me, you won’t want to miss the Food Truck Face Off 2022, which returns next month.

Hosted by an array of sponsors including the Food Truck League, Fourth Street Clinic, Utah Community Action, and The Children’s Center Utah, Food Truck Face Off 2022 takes place on Saturday, July 16th from 4 to 10 p.m. in Liberty Park.

You’re invited to chow down for charity and support the Fourth Street Clinic, Utah Community Action, and The Children’s Center Utah – beneficiaries of charitable proceeds from the event. You’ll enjoy live music, a beer garden, a drawing for a Traeger grill, plus more than 25 food trucks, all for a good cause. Entry is free.

Hot Summer Nights @ Tuscany

Tuscany restaurant invites guests to enjoy their Hot Summer Nights live music series, held on the beautiful Tuscany patio during the warm summer months, weather permitting. Upcoming acts include John Sherrill on 6/29. Check the restaurant’s website or sign up for their e-newsletter for more live music dates and performers.

According to the folks at Tuscany, “ Patio tables are non-reservable and are on a first come first serve basis with a reservation for inside. With our patio dining being in high demand we please ask everyone to have a 2 hour dining limit.”

Yumzz & More at Fairy Fest

Ready to be enchanted? Fairy Fest at Crone’s Hollow takes place this Saturday, June 25th. Here’s what the organizers have to say about this fun and fanciful event.

“Fairy Fest is a time of enchantment. A summer vision. The dewy and liminal place of twilight and dawn. The place where things come together, where edges meet, and where the Fae dwell. Midsummer is a gathering time for the Court of the Fairy Kingdom; a magical and lush time where the talents of the Faeries are shared in a carnival of color.”

“The Seelie Court of the Fae extends an invitation to join us for Fairy Fest, Crone’s Hollow’s Midsummer celebration; a day of unique merchandise as we showcase local artisan vendors, live music, fun food, Fairy processions, a children’s midsummer ritual, the live Mermaids of the Great Salt Lake, a live Pegasus horse,  and the magical snakes, lizards and spiders of Creature Encounters Utah.”

“Live musical performances by Project Jupiter, food by Yumzz, a Luck Lion Dance by the Jung Hing Lion Dance Club and a butterfly enclosure provided by Riverbottom Butterflies.”

The hours are 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at 3834 S. Main St in South Salt Lake.  We encourage costumes and guising in honor of the Fairy Court. Fairy photo services will be available and prints of your photos may be purchased on the day of the event. For additional info visit our website at croneshollow.com or call us at 801-906-0470. There is no charge for entry to Fairy Fest.”
