Roe vs. Wade Utah Capitol Rally on Mother’s Day

May 12, 2022 by Utah Stories Leave a Comment

What was originally billed as a walk turned into a rally and then a protest in Salt Lake City on Mother’s Day, when more than 300 people showed up at an event sponsored by the Utah Alliance regarding the current hot button issue of Roe vs Wade and its supposedly pending repeal by the Supreme Court. As you can see, some of the signs provided some "strong" opinions. A few … [Read more...]

What to Do about Smishing Text Messages

May 11, 2022 by Connie Lewis Leave a Comment

Fraudsters are nothing if not innovative. They keep up with the times and trends. As emails have given way to text messaging as a communication preference, scam artists have followed suit with smishing text messages. Email usage has shrunk and now has a smaller audience, with texts having a higher read rate. So, those wishing to separate you from your money or information … [Read more...]

Reconciling the strange world of living amongst one of the most dominant cultural/political/religious forces in the world as a “sinner” has been interesting.  It was discovered over a decade ago that Utahns consumed more online porn than any other state. This became a serious problem. Surveys and polls showed that virtually zero LDS members admitted to viewing porn, but it … [Read more...]

FINE DINING NOT DEAD: A Visit to The Charleston

May 6, 2022 by Ted Scheffler Leave a Comment

It’s sort of sad - to me, at least - that for every independent restaurant in Draper, Utah, there are probably 25 more chains and franchise eateries. In fact that might be lowballing the actual numbers. And, if you’re looking for fine dining in Draper … well, best of luck.  There is however, at least one such option: The Charleston. To my knowledge, The Charleston in … [Read more...]
