Tyler Mugford New Hotel General Manager at Deer Valley

Tyler Mugford will oversee operations at the charming ski-in/ski-out, 18-room luxury property which offers an authentic European atmosphere and award-winning, fine-dining restaurant, as well as the residential expansion of a second adjacent property slated to open in summer of 2020.

Tyler Mugford will oversee operations at the charming ski-in/ski-out, 18-room luxury property which offers an authentic European atmosphere and award-winning, fine-dining restaurant, as well as the residential expansion of a second adjacent property slated to open in summer of 2020. The expansion will include two modern, connected buildings with 40 luxury residential condominiums featuring studio to three-bedroom floor plans. Other amenities will include a conference center with outdoor patios and firepits; a rooftop pool, hot tubs and fitness center with incredible views; a ski/boot locker room with an après-ski lounge; sky bridge connection from the expansion to the existing Goldener Hirsh Inn; and two levels of underground parking complete with storage areas for the residence owners.

Mugford brings 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry to his role at the Goldener Hirsch. Half of his career has been focused in the mountains with previous roles as the Director of Front Office at The St. Regis Aspen and the Resort Manager for the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. In addition, Mugford was on the opening team for the Pendry Hotel in San Diego and worked at The Phoenician Scottsdale and Andaz San Diego.

Originally from Saskatchewan, Canada, Mugford graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration.

Mugford, his wife Kelly, and their three young sons moved to Utah in August 2019 and look forward to spending their time skiing and recreating in the mountains of Park City.
