This week, I’m not focusing so much on one sip of the week, but many of them. This weekend is Festa Italiana SLC 2018 at The Gateway in SLC on Saturday and Sunday. And, the festive event will feature sips of a number of Italian beverages for you to sample and enjoy.

Among the wines being served, sponsored by Vine Lore, are Il Faggio Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, Di Majo Sangiovese, Alpha Zeta Soave (a favorite of mine), and La Carraia Orvieto.

Bellinis made with Zonin Prosecco and peach juice will also be available, as will brews like Stella Artois Legere, Bud Light, Uinta Cutthroat Ale and Uinta Lime Pilsner.

Presented by the Italian-American Civic League of Utah, Festa Italiana SLC will take place at The Gateway on Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM and on Sunday from 12 PM to 7 PM.

The fourth annual Festa Italiana will provide locals with an authentic Italian street festival experience that is prevalent in many other cities across the country. Admission to Festa Italiana is free and open to the public. Highlights of the festival include: more than a dozen local Italian restaurants serving unique and authentic Italian food, non-stop performances by Italian musical artists, beer and specialty Italian wine, Italian car show and local and Italian artist showcases.

Festa Italiana SLC is a non-profit festival, funded in part by residents of Salt Lake County through the Zoo, Arts, & Parks (ZAP) Program. A portion of this year’s proceeds will go to support Catholic Community Services.
