Since 2008, SLUG Magazine has singled out one issue a year dedicated entirely to the burgeoning craft beer scene in Utah: The Local Beer Issue. To commemorate their 10th Annual Local Beer Issue, SLUG will be putting on a craft beer festival called SLUG Mag On Tap, featuring 100 percent Utah-brewed beer. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from the festival will go directly to benefiting the Utah Brewers’ Guild (UBG).

SLUG Mag On Tap will take place Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 2 to 7 p.m. at The Gateway. The day will feature a full entertainment lineup packed with local bands and DJs, yard games and mini competitions for all attendees to participate in. Rio Grande Street will be lined with 26 local craft brew vendors. Plus, local food truck favorites like Cup Bop, Silver Moon Taqueria, Lucky Slice Pizza, Rob’s Cheesesteaks and Argentina’s Best Empanadas. On top of that, PJK Creamery will be on site serving up exclusive beer-flavored ice-cream to satisfy all attendees of the festival.

Currently at 26 local Utah breweries providing over 75 local beers, SLUG Mag On Tap promises to fulfill all of your local craft beer tasting needs. As of this Press Release, the following breweries have confirmed: 2 Row Brewing, Bohemian Brewery & Grill, Bonneville Brewery, Branagan’s Brewery, Desert Edge Pub and Brewery, Epic Brewing Company, Fisher Brewing Company, Hoppers Grill & Brewing Co., Kiitos Brewing, Moab Brewery, Mountain West Hard Cider, Park City Brewery, Proper Brewing Co, Red Rock Brewing, RoHa Brewing Project, Roosters Brewing Co., RPM Brewing, Saltfire Brewing, Squatters Craft Beer, Strap Tank Brewing Co., Talisman Brewing Company, Toasted Barrel Brewing, Uinta Brewing, Vernal Brewing Company, Wasatch Brewery, and Zion Brewery.

The UBG is a 501(c)-6 nonprofit that was founded to provide a united voice for craft breweries in the state of Utah. Currently 18 breweries strong and growing, the UBG is dedicated to encouraging local purchasing, defending the industry and educating the public about all things brew-related.

Traditionally, festivals generate a lot of waste. To minimize the environmental impact of SLUG Mag On Tap, SLUG Magazine has partnered with Momentum Recycling to handle all of the glass recycling generated by the beer festival. On top of that, each participant will receive a commemorative full-sized mug that can be used for both taster and full pour sizes to reduce waste traditionally generated by disposable cups.

SLUG Mag On Tap has a strong commitment to the statewide No Fatalities road campaign. To encourage safe drinking practices, Designated Driver tickets will be available at the discounted price of $5. In addition to enjoying the music and activities, Red Bull will be serving up exclusive mocktails free of charge with their new limited edition summer flavors.

Presale Tickets for drinkers are $20 and are available for sale now on 24tix.com, day-of tickets will be $25 online or at the gate. Each ticket includes 3 sample tokens and a full-sized commemorative mug. Additional sample tokens will be available onsite for $1.50 each.
